Our company is looking for a new logo…
While we love our signs and our marketing materials, our logo leaves a bit to be desired, so we’ve decided to hire out the work to some really creative folks over at 99Designs.com. If you’re not familiar with the site, it’s a place where people who need creative designs (logos, websites, business cards, t-shirts, whatever) come together with people who are creative and want to help. You create a contest (with a cash prize), write up an overview of exactly what you’re looking for, and then let designers create what they think will best match your needs. At the end of the contest, you pick a winner, they get the cash prize, and you get the design.
Here are the entries so far for our contest:
Lish Properties Logo Design Contest
The contest still has a few days left before we declare a winner, so feel free to leave me a comment about which one(s) you prefer…we’re still undecided!
#87 by logolordz is beautiful! They get my vote. Contest over 🙂
#87 is the wrong type of logo. It looks like a real estate brokerage or something. Not good. I like #73 but the colors need a little work.
#64 gets my bote. Looks good.
#85 is pretty interesting. The L is used in a fairly simple graphic that suggests multiple properties, etc. Lish stands out, but not too much. Works in color and b&w.
#44 is nice too – simple, dyanmic. Might not scale to all uses though.
I like logo 87 as well. The top half anyway. The reason is simple. The logo has an elegant look and a sophisticated feel to it. I certainly think your homes have that feel. The other logos look cheap. While I know your homes are cheaper homes, they still look classy when you are done with them.
Yikes, lots of good ones. Not going to be easy to decide that is for sure. What do you think the “magic” reward is to get decent entries is?
Thanks for the feedback everyone! I agree with all the comments, and we tend to like the same ones that everyone else does…
Personally, I like a lot of different elements from a lot of different logos…I need to figure out a way to combine the things I like without losing anything in the translation.
And Adam – Thanks for your suggestion a couple months ago on fixing the logo…
🙂
Scott –
Yeah, it’s tough to decide, especially with more designs rolling in each hour. Plus, most of the new designs are based on our previous feedback, so they’re even better than the first ones.
As for the “magic number,” I assume you’re talking about contest prize. This is the first time we’ve done this, and our $150 prize seems to be generating a lot of great entries. I think the key is that we’re providing a lot of encouragement and feedback to the designers, so they have a good idea of what we want and don’t want.
I’m guessing that even $100 would probably generate a lot of good logo designs.
I like #90, very professional
Wow, lots of excellent entries! I think #96 is very clever. And #100 is pretty cool, too.
I like #128 out of the remaining 10.
