EDIT (Nov 12, 2012): Turns out the issues on this house aren’t yet resolved, so this house is no longer #39.
A few weeks ago, I mentioned The Rent-Back House, and how we had it under contract before learning from the seller that they had a second mortgage that hadn’t been addressed during the short sale process…
It’s taken a few weeks, but it *appears* that the second mortgage issue is getting resolved, and I’m now cautiously optimistic that The Rent-Back House will be House #39. We’re still in negotiations over renting it back to the sellers, but it seems likely that they’ll want to stay for 2 months; given that we have a restriction that we can’t resell for 4 months, this will be fine with us, though we’ll likely have to do some repairs (including replacing the roof) prior to them leaving.
I’ll have more to say in the next week or so once we get all the approvals and schedule the closing…
